Prevent Buildup of Static Electricity

Camfil Stat-Safe™ filters use a patented antistatic urethane to dissipate static charges and the buildup of static electricity within a dust collector. The antistatic urethane is used as the glue that secures the filter pan to the media pack, eliminating the need for clips, wires or fabric swatches to ground the filter pan to the media. Since the anti-static mechanism cannot break off during operation, these filters provide near 100% failsafe operation.

Why are static dissipative filters needed?

Accumulated charges can have harmful effects such as fire or explosion, along with other equipment damage that could harm personnel. Typical markets this occurs in are manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, plastics, textiles, agriculture and food, packaging or converting, automotive, aviation, and more.

What are key applications for static dissipative filters?

Stat-Safe filter cartridges are ideal for applications and processes that produce or carry static electricity, as well as adjacent processes that may carry static electricity. They are most often used for collecting pharmaceutical dusts which are highly explosive and plastic dusts, which produce static electricity.

Camfil Stat-Safe filters are available for Gold Series, GSX and Quad Pulse Package dust collectors—with or without Gold Cones. They are also available as replacement filters for many Tenkay, Donaldson and AAF dust collectors. All static dissipative filters are tested per ASHRAE 52.2:2017 for the resulting MERV ratings.

Filter Media Options:

  • FC - Fire Retardant Carbon - The HemiPleat fiber blend media is impregnated with carbon fibers for static dissipation, chemically treated with a flame retardant. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 10.
  • HFC – High-Efficiency Fire Retardant Carbon - A melt-blown laminate is applied to the surface of the HemiPleat media base for higher filtration efficiencies. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 16.
  • XFC - Extreme Fire Retardant Carbon - (Xtreme means it has a nano membrane coating) eXtreme nanofibers are applied to the HemiPleat fire-retardant carbon filter media for a durable coating perfect for surface loading and pulse cleaning. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 15.
  • DPA - Aluminized Spunbond Polyester – These DuraPleat filters are made of heavy-duty, all-purpose polyester. The moisture-resistant media is coated with a conductive aluminized finish to provide static dissipation and good dust repellency. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 11.
  • DPTC - PTFE Coated Carbon Spunbond Polyester - Dura-Pleat media is impregnated with carbon and laminated with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane. They are ideal for applications capturing fine particulates and requiring superior dust release. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 16.
