Prevents buildup of static electricity

Camfil Stat-Safe™ filter cartridges are constructed using a patented antistatic urethane to dissipate static charges and the buildup of static electricity within a dust collector. The antistatic urethane is used as the glue that secures the filter pan to the media pack, eliminating the need for clips, wires or fabric swatches to ground the filter pan to the media. Since the anti-static mechanism cannot break off during operation, these filters provide near 100% failsafe operation.

Camfil fabricates static dissipative filter cartridges using either OmniPleat® cellulose or DuraPleat spunbond media. They are available for Gold Series III, GSX, Tenkay and Quad Pulse Package dust collectors—with or without OptiCones. They are also available as replacement filters for many Donaldson and AAF dust collectors. All static dissipative filters are tested per ASHRAE 52.2:2017 for the resulting MERV ratings.

Why are static dissipative filters needed?

Accumulated charges can have harmful effects such as fire or explosion, along with other equipment damage that could harm personnel. Typical markets this occurs in are manufacturing of pharmaceuticals, plastics, textiles, agriculture and food, packaging or converting, automotive, aviation, and more.

What are key applications for static dissipative filters?

Stat-Safe filter cartridges are ideal for applications and processes that produce or carry static electricity, as well as adjacent processes that may carry static electricity. They are most often used for collecting pharmaceutical dusts which are highly explosive and plastic dusts, which produce static electricity.

Filter media options:

Camfil fabricates static dissipative filter cartridges using either OmniPleat® cellulose or DuraPleat spunbond media. Specific media options are described below.

  • FC - Fire Retardant Carbon - The OmniPleat fiber blend media is impregnated with carbon fibers for static dissipation, chemically treated with a flame retardant. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 10.
  • XFC - Extreme Fire Retardant Carbon - eXtreme nanofibers are applied to OmniPleat fire-retardant carbon filter media for a durable coating perfect for surface loading and pulse cleaning. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 15.
  • DPA - Aluminized Spunbond Polyester – DuraPleat filters made of heavy-duty, all-purpose polyester. The moisture-resistant media is coated with a conductive aluminized finish to provide static dissipation and good dust repellency. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 11.
  • DPTC - PTFE Coated Carbon Spunbond Polyester - DuraPleat filters made from media impregnated with carbon and laminated with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane. These filters have an efficiency rating of MERV 16 and are ideal for applications capturing fine particulates and requiring superior dust release.
